lühikokkuvõte: The DISCOVER-IT objective is to demonstrate how the usage of an advanced information system based on semantic web technologies can support SMEs innovation processes. DISCOVER-IT will start from the results achieved in the project INSEARCH (FP7 Research for the Benefit of SMEs - Grant Agreement number 262491), ending in November 2012. The result of INSEARCH consist in a prototype information system able to support European SMEs in their technological innovation process through the search and extraction of relevant knowledge present in structured and unstructured information sources within enterprises and on the Web. The project will perform technical improvements of the current available software prototype, industrial validation exercises in SMEs, and will define a specific marketing strategy to guide SMEs in the commercial exploitation. The DISCOVER-IT project success will demonstrate the following scientific and technological results: - The availability of an advanced Information system able to search and retrieve relevant knowledge for innovation processes from weakly structured contents as well as formalized databases; information agents performs natural and adaptive knowledge search on the web, to filter information (patents, scientific papers, documents, etc..), to monitor sets of URLs of interest for the users, and to crawl and recommend web sites providing contents relevant to the innovation processes of SMEs; - The usage of complex form of search and exploration across innovation-related data through semantic models for exploratory search, exploiting the combination of querying and browsing strategies in the so-called faceted navigation paradigm; - The application of state-of-art learning methods through the usage of correlations among textual properties of documents and application of unsupervised learning to discover novel concepts in data streams.
